an earlier 69-70 block as a rule of thumb can handle more then the rest of the 70s, and those can handle more then the roller blocks. now with that said it all comes down to how well it is built and most importantly how well its tuned. a bad tuned 351 can split at a few hundred HP, i have seen 69-70 blocks put down a little over 700 to the wheels.
