She has a few sniper-friendly skills and it gives you a great overview of the battlefield so you can more easily prioritize either healing teammates or controlling enemies.

My recommendation for your build is when you get to level 50 and get your hands on your legendary class mod you put at least 1 point in 5 skills it builds so you have 6/5 in a least 5 of your 1rst level skills out of the six available.
