I have cleared my towns before, it is very hard because dead bodies of the Zombies attract more zombies so the ones from the woods and other towns will come over and smell the dead bodies making more come so you need to clear those zombies after you kill every zombie in town even with respawn off. #3. Curtain EVERYTHING. Then, attract the horde. Get as many as possible to follow me into the curtained house. Run through a couple doors, then dash out the opposite side of the house. Zombies will follow me inside and start smashing the interior doors to get around. That noise attracts more of the horde inside. zombies will move around and react to noises on the map. Random gunshots, helicopters, and rain will make them wander. So, if there is a mass of zombies nearby and a helicopter decides to fly above your house, you're going to have company... If you really struggle though you can reduce starting zombie population and have it ramp up to the same population over time, just to help out at the beginning.
